I take things apart to understand how they work. Technology pays the bills, but it's not where it stops.

About

I've been interested in how technology works for as long as I can remember. Consumer electronics, networking infrastructure, how AI models are actually built. Over 20 years of following the industry and a career spent working across it.

My experience runs from enterprise routing and circuit architecture to automation platforms, local AI, RF, IoT, and Linux internals. I'm most useful when the problem doesn't fit neatly into one domain. Which, in my experience, is most problems.

Core skills

  • Infrastructure — Networks, systems, cloud, bare metal. Circuit architecture, virtualization, enterprise deployments.
  • Software — Automation, scripting, API design, local AI. Data pipelines, web platforms, CLI tooling.
  • Security — Offensive and defensive. RF, physical, application, network, social engineering.
  • Hardware — IoT, sensors, microcontrollers, signal processing. SDRs, DAQs, soldering, PCB design.

Approach

I think the fundamentals determine everything else. Be internally consistent, question defaults, and optimize for what actually helps people. That applies to technology, working relationships, and problem solving equally.

Most of my best work comes from applying simple principles consistently across different contexts. The approach doesn't change much. The domain does.
